Biography: Jie Tang, Professor, Doctoral Director, Vice Dean of the School of Electronics and Information of South China University of Technology, recipient of the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Outstanding Youth Science Fund, serves as Deputy Director of the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education for Near-range Wireless Communications and Networks, Director of Guangdong Province's Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Network Communications and Computing, Deputy Director of China's Digital Low Altitude Specialty Committee, Member of the Chinese Society of Communication's Committee on Artificial Intelligence Technology and Applications, Vice Chairman of the IEEE Green Cellular Networks Working Group. Member of IEEE Green Cellular Networks Working Group. He was awarded the 16th IEEE Communications Society Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Scholar Award (2021), the First Prize of Guangdong Province Electronic Information Science and Technology Award (2021), the Second Prize of Guangdong Province Scientific and Technological Progress (2019), the Third Prize of Natural Science of the Institute of Electronics (2020) as well as the Best Paper Award in five international conferences. He is mainly engaged in research on smart wireless communications, including wireless energy-carrying communications, communication-aware integration, smart reflective surfaces, and UAV communications. He has published more than 200 academic papers, including more than 100 papers in IEEE refereed journals. He has presided over more than 30 vertical projects and enterprise-commissioned horizontal projects, including the National Key R&D Program, Guangdong Province Key Areas R&D Program, etc., and some of the results have been industrialized and applied.
